Yay! IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE!!!

Hi everybody

School is out and I just finished Christmas shopping yesterday (guess who's reeeeealy organized).

Chritmas is always weird in my house as we don't always have it on Christmas day, my dads a firefighter and works two hours away and this year he has to work on Christmas day! Why must all these people set fire to their turkeys? So anyhow we're having it on boxing day.
Contrary to me my nan's been getting ready since about October (she made 3 chistmas cakes that weigh about a ton each, there's sooo much stuff in them!)

However today, luckily for me I'm avoiding arguments today (my mum and my little sister has a liiiiittle bit of a "misunderstanding" yesterday and both are a tiny but touchy), instead I'm having a Christmas movie marathon chez my friends house. Where we shall be swapping presents, which is, in my opinion, a lot more fun. One of my friends is in a theatre production and can't come, the other is half polish and it's Christmas eve,
she told me that in Poland they give one present on Christmas eve and it's a family day.

This then got me thinking about different countries versions of Christmas, I know when I was living in France I was invited round a friends house for Christmas eve and I went round, they opened all their presents on Christmas eve but in the evening, so they had to wait the whole day to open them! They told me that in France (at least where I lived) Christmas day itself is meant to be spent with family (unless your dad is working -.- sorry I'm a litlle bit unhappy with that.)

But I also suppose it's different here too, I know peoe who have to be up at 6, showered dressed with teeth and hair brushed, ready to go to church, then have a rost dinner and presents come late afternoon. Mine's somewhat different: leap out of bed as I'm always up first and "discreetly" wake everyone up, "oh look, I dropped loads of pans on the floor" or I'll play with the dog so he barks. I'll then rip everything open then have brunch then over to my nan's for more presents and snacks, them my mums friend comes to visit (except this year we are going to hers) and we eat MORE FOOD top it all off with some christmas cake (the heavy one!), ice cream and finally a bit of Just Dance and Singstar = voila a Christmas chez moi.

How do you guys all spent Christmas?

I would add a son but I'm on my iPod and Blogger won't let me :,(, I can't find the picture I was trying to upload either! (However the irony is that I've written way more than I normally do at a computer ^^)

I'm off in two hours aaaand I'm still in bed, too lazy, oh it's 10 in the morning, I thought it was about 8...

I hope you guys all have the best Christmas!

Lots of love
Lottie ^^

It's DECEMBER!!!

And thus, the countdown to Christmas begins. I haven't even started buying presents yet. -.-

In two days, I'm performing "Jar of Hearts" with my friends at my schools Christmas concert... That's gonna go down well, I sing like someone's strangling a cat...

I was surfing YouTube today and I found loads of comments about Hetalia, I never really got what it was about so I decided to take a look...

It's about the most hilarious thing I've ever seen, ever! I've spent the past 2 hours watching episodes and I have just one question: WHY ARE THEY SO SHORT?! :'(

YAY!! ^^

Well, I'm moving to London XP

Nah, not really, but I want to now.

On Wednesday my English class took a trip to the British Library. It was designed to look like a boat, LOOK AT IT, HOW EPIC!!!

It's got about 14 million books, looooads of first editions as well. I saw the Handwritten "Alice in Wonderland" Except then it was called "Alice's adventures underground."  There was also Sir. Arthur Conan Doyles "Lost" (Though now found) first novel, Beethoven's tuning for and handwritten music scores and there was also the Beatles handwritten lyrics! Oh, and also King George III's Book collection. (GAH TOO MANY BOOKS, ME VEEERY HAPPY ^^)

Me and my best friend Catty, snuck off to look at the Magna Carter (Nearly wrote MANGA Carter for a sec XD). O.o It was AMAZING, so now I have decided to move to London.

<== LOOK IT'S ALICE!!!

On Monday, I introduced my friends to the "Caramelldansen" and thus we had an idea, between us we can speak 4 languages, and so, we're going to caramelldansen around the world. We did a lot in London, on the underground people gave us some funny looks,  we also did it in the middle of London Victoria station and The Apollo theater ( where "Wicked" is showing). Next on our list of places we're going soon is:
 -New Zealand
-France (ME!!)
-Greece
-Italy
-Possibly Aussieland

(If anyone wants to get involved as well, feel free to let me know, It's gonna take about a year to get all of the videos together from various countries!)

All in all, I'd say it was a pretty good day, WHO AM I KIDDING I LOOOVED IT!!!

Hope you all have a good weekend!!

I Just applied for a job (Still can't think of a creative title...)

Well, hi there Everybody!

Well, I've just applied for my first job! It was really hard to write a CV, I sat around for ages trying to think of what to write.

This was my favorite collection, they don't sell it in store anymore though ( I truly love the teapot).
I have this glasses case, le woof >.<

I  won't find out if I've got the job yet for a little while but I really hope I do, so if you're ever want KAWAII stationary, you know who to call! (Not Ghostbusters).

My friend lent me a few CDs today, now I have 6 hours worth of Disney on my iPod... I need to get a life really... Today I shall leave you with a video sweeping the UK after seeing it on a show called Russel Howard's Good News:

A book review (LACK OF CREATIVE TITLE)

Ever get the feeling when somethings wrong? It's freaky but I've been feeling like this all week, like when you go out and realise you've forgotten something reeeeally important, but you just can't remember what...   Hm... Maybe I'll eventually remember what it is.

Anyhooo... I've been catching up on my reading lately, latest book to read: A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. I absolutely loved  reading this book, the storyline was really intricately written which keeps you guessing. It was filled with witches, demons and (French yay!) vampires (ones that don't sparkle in the sun, for a nice change ^^). I'm very eagerly awaiting the second installment in the series Shadow of Darkness. Also the Warner Brother's company has brought the rights to make a film!

The heroine of the book, a witch who denys her powers named Diana Bishop, discovers a transcript named Ashmole 782 and almost immediately sends it back after discovering three pages were missing and words were swirling all over the place. She discovers that she is the only one who can reclaim it. A swarm of other creatures, all of whom want the manuscript, including a vampire Matthew Clairmont. Together with said vampire she journeys to try and discover the secrets of the manuscript, taking her to La Belle France. I'm gonna shut up now before I give too much away.  >.<

And, on a completely unrelated note, I must  go to MCM next year...

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Hiya everybody, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! ^^

Of course as it's Halloween, I'm in the mood for freaky music^^ I watched this at midnight the first time, I then had to watch "Popipo" about 3 times afterwards, I was just too freaked out!

Now as much as I LOVE this holiday, unfortunately for me I live in the UK, so for me today has been filled with scared elderly people who refuse to open their doors to anyone in costume, in fact I'm the only house on my street who is actually giving out sweets today, how sad is that? I love the whole idea of halloween in America, sound soooo much more fun! Also for me it's also my Grandma's birthday, so I don't really get dressed up. What's worse is that my friend wouldn't dress up as Len when we went to the theme park.
I did enjoy halloween in France, people trick or treat during the day at the shops, no joke, the shops actually DO hand out sweets to them all!!

Hope you've all had a great day today, both my parents were working all day and my sister was out, so I was home alone in my witches hat all day with my dog, 'cause I'm cool like that! ^^

A bientot!

A Manga guide to Physics? *BUY BUY BUY*

Hello there ^^

I got stung by a wasp, now my finger is about three times the size it normally is :/

Anyhoo, I was in English today and my teacher walked past as my friend was drawing a cupcake and then said "kawaii."

I just couldn't stop laughing because, well, my teacher has a verrrrrry posh English accent and it was soooo funny hearing her say that.

I also discovered today that my physics teacher is an Otaku when he tried to get our Physics class to  buy "the manga guide to physics," our class were like "Oh, sir, how funny!"

...On the inside I'm screaming "GET IT GET IT GET IT!!!"
Ehem... I'm on amazon right now XP

Erm... Embarrasing

Well, today I realised something quite bizarre, I had forgotten I had a blog... I then felt guilty for neglecting to write anything. I remembered when I was on YouTube watching a Hatsune Miku song when I suddenly thought "Oh! Sonny likes this singer," my next thought was "UH-OHHHHH" so I rushed back here to blog again ^^

I wanted to say that it's nearly HALLOWEEN!! My local theme park is having a "Fright Night Special" and you can choose whether to go in costume or not. At first I didn't have any idea what to do, then I realised my best friend (who is coming with me) and I have been asked if we were twins because he looks a lot like me (We have simlilar noses, eyes and hair) and then it hit me!!

WE SHALL GO AS KAGAMINE RIN AND LEN!!!
He isn't aware of this yet but I have decided!!!

I was gonna go as miku but I hit some problems:
1. My hair isn't long enough
2. I couldn't find the right colour hair dye (or spray)
3. Wigs are something ridiculous like £200 to buy it and get it sent over here to the UK...

I promise not to forget about my blog again!

A book review ^^

Hello bloggers!
Anyhow I decided to finally write a book review.

Well, two days ago I was looking for "Passion", the newest book by Lauren Kate but failed to find it. Instead I found another of her books (one which I hadn't heard if before) entitled "The betrayal of Natalie Hargrove", I decided to buy it and give it a read.

Although it's very different to certain other books floating around at the moment (in that the dead actually stay dead) I think it still is pretty good.

The main protagonist, Nat, is a lot more cruel and cunning than Lucinda, the main protagonist in Lauren Kate's book "Fallen", because of the characters personality it's really hard to relate to her at first, desperate to become the school's "princess" no matter what the cost, even if it means framing someone for a death she caused. As you read further on you start to sympathise with the character. The ending of this book was really unexpected, if somewhat inevitable, but all in all it wasn't too bad a read!
The book cover (in case you're interested!)

A very lovely film

One of my favorite films at the moment is Spirited away, directed by Hayao Miyazaki. And, yes, although it is old, I still adore it!!! ^^

The film is about ten year old Chihiro who, while moving to her new home, discovers a tunnel with her parents. At first they believe it's an abandoned amusement park. Chihiro runs off while her parents are eating, only to return to find that they have turned into pigs. A boy named Haku finds her and tells Chihiro that the only way to save her parents is to get a job at the bathhouse, run by the (rather bad tempered) witch, Yubaba.

It's a really touching movie, which I would highly recommend to you all. I'm not gonna tell you what happens, that would ruin it for you. I openly admit that this film makes you smile, laugh and (sometimes) cry. Filled with loveable characters and an amazing storyline, this film beat Titanic in the Japanese box office and won an Academy award for Best Animated Feature and a Golden Bear award at the 2002 Berlin International Film Festival.

^^

Anyways, expect another post in the next couple of days as tommorow I am going to Thorpe park, the location of Saw The Ride, a 100° drop that reaches 55 mph...Oh Goody...

Hypocrites

Eurgh, I seem to have spent most of my time doing revision or exams, bouncing between school and home... ONE WEEK LEFT OF CUMPULSORY SCHOOLING!!!!

Not that I'm too excited or anything ^^

Anyways, I know this girl who really is one of THE most annoying people I've ever met, EVER!

She always moans about how "everyone" copies her and how it annoys her... The thing is though, she does the EXACT same thing to me, it's always been ok with me before but after having been in the same school with her for about 8 years now, it's starting to bug me, REALLY BUG ME!!!

The thing is I can't talk to her anymore, once you start to dislike someone, everything they do is annoying... anybody else think this too?

Finding a hard time dealing with this so if anybody has any ideas, please let me know ^^

Rant over, please return to your lives... :p

I'm back... finally ^^

Soooooo, two weeks with no internet, and here I thinking it would be easy... guess not!

So anyways, me and one of my best friends both want to do journalism at uni in a couple of years time. So this summer we are setting up a new blog together. Basically it's about our local area and the history of it. We want to go around the town and interview people on different aspects of life in our area.

We should be set up in a couple of months, depending of GCSE's (I should be revising right now, but hey!) so I'll put up a link when it's ready!

We're doing the whole lot, blog, logo and advertisment in the local paper, I truly CANNOT wait!!!

Recently fallen in love with "Fruity cuties". KAWAII!!!!!!!!!!

Sniffing out another strange story

As you all will be well aware we are but days away from the Royal wedding, most of us here in the UK are more happy about the days off work/school. However, isn't this going a bit far? Has anyone seen some of the merchandise available?

How about the Royal wedding teabags, sick bags and Gnomes?

But for me the weirdest was the life sized card board cut outs. Imagine waking up to one of those in your room, eurgh...

Throne up sick bags. What a funny play on words ¬.¬
Oh hai cardboard cut out :D
Who knows? Maybe I'm just upset about the joke wedding invitation I received? I'm not anti Royalist or anything but some of this stuff is just a little... creepy.

But I have to say I'm loving the Royal Wedding Dalek ^^

One lovely blog award

Okey Dokey, just got back online after moving (have to do it again in a month or two -.-)

So, merci bien for the award.

Seven things about myself:

1. I practically survive on Disney, my motto to life is "If you don't love disney, you have no soul!"
2. I have recently moved back from France, actually I moved back 3 years ago but our house only sold yesterday!
3. I'm right handed for writing but do everything else with my left.
4. Although I am English, I do not know the Queen or Harry Potter, so please stop asking Frenchy!
5. I love archery and got a bow for my birthday (It's amazing for venting anger!)
6. I AM A SPEED EATER, I ate at least 75% of a dessert for 4 people (my friends were amazingly annoyed when I ate all 5 brownies... Chocolate <3)
7. I kick butt at all video games!!!

Erm... This may sound really stupid but... How do you tag other blogs in a post???

^^

Oh, what a funny news story :)

OK, so i was bored and was looking at the news this week, I found a ridiculously funny news story.
"Man barks at dog, says dog started it" (Metro)

Apparently a 25 year old is going to court for barking at a police dog, when the police questioned him his actual response was "The dog started it". Should he really be going to court for this? I can just imagine:
"It wasn't me, the dog, he forced me to do it, it's all his fault! I'm innocent"
OK he was drunk, in public, barking at a dog. Makes me kinda wish I was there to see this happen.

Hahahahaha! This story made me laugh, a lot.  XD
man barks at dog
Oh hai doggy!

A foul mood

So today I thought it was Saturday, so I never bothered setting my alarm, woke up late and realised it was friday. It gets worse, after double french, double geography and latin, I was ready to kill someone. I then found out that I had to come in to school DURING LES VACANCES to revise.

I know what will make me feel happy: The kingdom hearts caramelldansen ^^

Tuesday, 29 March 2011

Well, here goes nothing

Well, first post in my blog. I was told it gets easier after the first post and so I've been trying to think of a good subject to start of with, with no luck. So maybe I'll just say something about this blog.

I have no desire to keep to the same genre of writing, maybe one day I'll have a rant, the next maybe a short story or something like that. Maybe if anyone wants to suggest a subject. It'll help until I get used to coming up with ideas for blogging, feel free to get in contact, I'm generally a nice person.

I suppose one reason for having a blog is that you can write about whatever you want. After nearly two years of having essays to write on set  subjects it's nice to be able to let off steam my way, anyone who is doing any coursework of any sort would probably agree with me.

Still, just take it day by day and at least it's starting to warm up!

Byesie Bye

PS. I know this wasn't the best post in the world, I just wanted the first one over and done with, I promise I'll do better next time!
